Life: A Reign of Terror

She feared the day when he would walk past her without even noticing her. She feared for the moment when her tears might run unnoticed. She feared that one day the clock might reverse and once again make her visualize and embrace the concealed fallacy in her. She was a conscience-stricken personality. Yes, she was terrified. She was terrified of what life might do to her and what her future might bring. Consequently, she was roped to a lamp-post between her future and her past. She is just an ordinary woman.

The fears of a woman can be overcome by no one but her only. They possess a different nature and are almost harmless, easily defeated. The bright side of her fear reflects care, beauty, love, affection, kindness and most of all, ultimate passion. But, on the dark side of her heart and her soul, lives vengeance, horror and the desire to own everything at the cost of losing the most beloved.
It is like a cold, grief-stricken breeze. It has been the cause of all the thunder and lightening in the lives of people ever since life started on earth. It has brought good and evil on our lands. Its psyche is unfathomable. It has dashed to the ground, the pride of the boastful, over many years. It smudges the path of wrong-doers as well as the faithful and good. It’s a test; the one who faces it with fortitude gains success in every walk of life. The one, who’s horrified, fails and is shattered to a hundred million pieces all at once. Against a strong belief and a strong aim, it is futile. It is hair-raising: the name is terror.

This terror lives in the heart of every human being, man or woman, dead or alive, sick or well, brave or coward, sane or insane.

Some thoughts are like a black page, unread, afraid to get shared due to fear of being laughed at, of being looked upon as amusing. Such thoughts are alive in every man. It is terror that keeps them indescribable; therefore, they remain untouched and unshared.
A dairy farmer who earns money through the sale of milk, eggs, bread, cheese and butter, lives in fear for as long as he keeps on earning his living through his dairy business. He keeps on wondering, “What will happen if these hens stopped giving eggs one day? What if the animals stopped producing milk? What if my business went into decline? What if…? What if…?” Days will pass by and nights will come along but he wouldn’t stop pondering over his “What-if’s” until the day, when he’ll prove successful in finding out a suitable solution to his problem. He gets another job and works in an industry as an alternative along with his farm, until, after almost a month, his peace replaces a new fear: “What if they don’t double my salary? What if they decrease it as a result of the large number of employed workers? What if I fail in feeding my family?” and so on. Every single day, he’d find a new terror to live with. But he wouldn’t stop living. Life will go on as it always has.

Teenagers are the most passionate about “living in the present” without any fears. They consider enjoying every moment, every day of their life. They believe that a new day is a new start. But, this perspective changes as they grow older. They start looking towards a successful future, towards making a fortune out of their life. They are impatient; therefore, they desire to achieve everything as soon as possible and all at once. Their impatience makes them struggle more. Terror, as it always has, fills in their lives and changes their goals, their aims. A new day begins with a new fear, a new challenge, in their lives.

This ‘Terror’ is ever-living. It builds in us reluctance. It is for the sake of man so that he chooses the right path. But, despite of bringing triumph, it is also the most destructive phenomenon when it joins hands with Evil. It has planted the seeds of cowardice over centuries and will continue to do so. From those seeds, the growth of innumerable lies has begun and they have formed Evil. This kind of Evil is, undoubtedly, a contagious disease among mankind. The devil might have been formed from fire but Evil grows within us through the wrong use of our free wills. We are convinced to lie, steal, murder, as a result of the terror of losing someone, something and of losing control over our mind, body and soul. Furthermore, our hearts, our desire, is directed towards vengeance.

The bridge, which leads to Evil, is broken by a term, well-known as Courage, which is defined as the most powerful weapon against our Terror. The one, who possesses it, might not be defeat-able, but there will always come a time when its chains will be weakened to such extent that the pain will become forever existent and unbearable.
Henceforth, the face of life glows with the exuberance of terror and this cycle will remain the same forever. It has conquered life and will reign as long as life will continue to grow.
